We met her teacher, Ms. Muir, this afternoon. She sounds like a lot of fun. We came home with a packet of information and Grace and I read it and it sounds so fun! Grace gets to have show-and-tell every Wednesday. She is already lining up her show-and-tell items for the next month!!
And I just have to say...how totally smart are preschool teachers in this day and age! Each child brings snacks each day of preschool (Grace goes on Monday and Wednesday mornings.) But they don't allow anything homemade. Everything must be prepackaged and they ask for healthy snacks. So no worrying about my kid eating yucky food from a dirty nasty home with parents who don't wash their hands or countertops or anything else. (And c'mon, if you're a mom - admit it - you've worried about this before!)

I know my mom has run into that problem before. They have the same rules that you do now, but in the past I can remember times where she knew a family had kids home with the flu and they brought the treat, so my mom would politely thank them for bringing it and serve the back up, pre-packaged treat instead. No one wants germy snacks!! I hope Grace feels better and gets to go to her first day of pre-school!
I'm on the opposite side! It breaks my heart that I'll never be able to make theme-appropriate cookies or little personalized cupcakes for my kids' classrooms!
Em; I hear ya! I love cute homemade treats. But knowing some of the homes that these kids come from - I'm THANKFUL that they are requiring pre-packaged!!!
As a side note on the Family Guy, the Cardinal didn't wash his hands after going to the bathroom, just touched Stewey and now Stewey is sick and in quarantine. I don't want that to be Grace! ;)
