Keeping busy

We have been keeping very busy lately. We visited and played with Nana on the farm over the weekend. Grace had been asking to play with her day care friends too so we visited Laura and Tyler for a little while on Friday and Grace was able to play with Nick. She's visiting again tomorrow to play with Clare. Keeping busy makes Grace think about other things than how much she misses Daddy. Although last night she insisted on wearing daddy's Twins t-shirt to bed.

Fun in the sun

The weather has been gorgeous the last few days. But as Iowa typically is this time of year, it has been humid. Today was a nice surprise - lots of sun, a great breeze and very little humidity. Playing outside was definitely in order with the great weather, so I filled up the backyard pool and let Grace splash around for a few hours. She said it was a "big bath" and had lots of fun. The pool lost at least half of it's contents before all was said and done. Emilia and I sat in the shade and just watched all of the fun. I do have to admit that one nice part about playing in the pool was that Grace was very tired afterwards and all three of us were able to get in a big nap this afternoon!!

Paul is in Oregon

For those of you that are wondering.... Paul made it to Oregon last night. He said that his flights were on time with the exception of the flight from Seattle to Medford which was delayed numerous times. He finally arrived at the college around 1:30 a.m. this morning (his time - 3:30 our time.) He said that all is well and he started class at 8 a.m.

18 days to go...

What a ham!!

Grace has been quite the ham lately! Earlier this week we purchased a new bouncy/vibrator seat for Emilia. The one that we had purchased pre-baby, also converts into a toddler rocking chair. Grace hadn't used it for six to nine months, but as soon as she saw it she remembered it and it is her new favorite movie watching chair. So we found a cute one for Emilia at Target. As soon as we put Emilia in hers, Grace had to sit right next to her and show Emilia how all of the toys work and how "big girls" sit in the bouncy seats.

Paul has been busy getting ready for his grad school trip to Oregon. He leaves tomorrow (Friday). He has to take a clarinet out this year and Grace was curious as to what was in that little case. Paul put it together and Grace had quite the time with it. This picture cracks us up. It looks like one of those Riccola commercials!!

Dancing Queen

Grace, Emilia and I are watching the Tony Awards. (Well Emilia is sleeping next to us on the couch.) But Grace absolutely LOVES the performances on the Tonys. In fact after the opening performance of Cry-Baby, Grace decided that she likes to tap dance too and has been "tap dancing" around the living room and on the couch.
I don't want Grace to grow up any faster than she already is, but 3-year old dance classes can't come fast enough for our little dancing queen!!

More pictures

Emilia is a fantastic baby and big sister Grace has proven that she is quite the trooper! Emilia sleeps a lot as most newborns do and fusses very little. Grace loves her "Mi-Mi" and loves to talk to her and give her kisses.
