Happy days are here again!! Paul is on his way home from grad school. He should be loading his first of four flights wihtin the next couple of hours. We told Grace last night before bed that Daddy was coming home tomorrow. Of course we didn't realize that this meant she'd be camping out in front of the window for the day! Paul's final flight doesn't arrive until 11 p.m., so it could be a very long day of window watching!
We have decided to take a mini-vacation once Paul arrives home. Grace is infatuated with animals right now, so we have decided that a trip to the zoo is in order. In fact, the Des Moines zoo has a mommy and baby elephant visiting for the rest of the week. Grace loves elephants especially when she gets to tell you what they say. It will be exciting. However I have this irrational fear of zoos now that we have children. Did you see the video from a few years back where a little boy fell into the ape display and was knocked out. Then one of the apes dragged the boy to an area and held on to him? Or in Harry Potter where the cousin falls into the snake display. I know my fears are irrational, but with Grace being such an active and wriggly two-year old it kind of scares me. But I know that with Paul home she'll be glued to his hip, so all should be well. We'll post zoo pictures later in the weekend.
In the meantime, here are a few pictures of Grace. She got anew giant coloring book last week. Within an hour of being home she had colored every single page. And of course the usual vacuuming of the living room floors.
